To provide the full range of resources made possible through technology, to all patrons in our service area, revealing the vast world of information, entertainment, and cultural pursuits, without compromising our resolve to also supply the best possible collection of printed material and other non-print resources. The library will provide and actively promote easy access to all resources for all patrons and offer guidance and encouragement in their use so that they improve the quality of their lives. The Library strives to encourage life-long learners to develop their maximum potential.
Argos Public Library strives to provide quality, up-to-date materials, information, and services, in order to fulfill the educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the entire community in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful, and businesslike. Because the purpose of the library is to serve the patrons with an outstanding collection of materials in a variety of formats, the ability to gather information from a variety of resources has become essential. Library staff and patrons must be comfortable with computers and other forms of technology as they continue to evolve. In addition, the library plays a vital role by providing access for those who may otherwise not have access to various technological resources. The plan which follows, reflects the realization that technology is not an end in itself, but a means to an end.
